Our goals

Driving impactful research and engagement

Our goal is to foster sustainable, mutually beneficial cooperation between Australia and Vietnam across all levels of higher education and research engagement.

Led by Institute Director Professor Thu-Anh Nguyen, we work collaboratively and innovatively to:

  • Support highly-productive research networks between the University and partner institutions in Vietnam

  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary research in Vietnam which improves the health and related wellbeing of individuals, communities and the environments in which they live

  • Build leadership in cross-cultural research, and

  • Integrate sustainability across all activities.

The Institute plays an important role in facilitating rigorous and high-quality research which can contribute to the body of knowledge at a global level. The potential impact is substantial, with far-reaching benefits for local and global communities.
