The University of Sydney Vietnam Institute facilitates and strengthens intellectual and cultural exchange between Australian and Vietnamese researchers, academics and students.

Established in 2023, we combine the University of Sydney’s breadth of research in Vietnam into a pan-University research facilitator and engagement hub. 

We leverage the research capabilities of the University of Sydney and foster productive research networks with partners and industry in Vietnam in areas including medicine and health, economics, agriculture, the environment, food safety, and more.

Our research seeks to improve the wellbeing of individuals and communities in Vietnam and beyond through excellence in multidisciplinary, collaborative, and impactful research and engagement.

We also host events such as research seminars and symposiums, support Vietnamese alumni relations activities, and provide a base for short and long-term attachments and fellowships for Australian-based staff conducting research in Vietnam.
