Vaccination Communication Handbook for Vaccine Champions

They are known as “Vaccine Champions”. The Handbook serves as a reference for healthcare workers engaged in vaccine education and communication training at the provincial and district levels, aiming to enhance their knowledge and skills in vaccine communication.

“Vaccine Champions” can be healthcare professionals, community leaders, or other esteemed community members who have received specialized training in communicating the importance of vaccinations.

This handbook is designed for two primary audiences:

• Vaccine Champions: Serving as a practical guide, it equips them with the knowledge and communication skills necessary to advocate for vaccination within their communities.
• Healthcare Workers: Focused on communication and health education, it provides provincial and district-level health professionals with a reference document for their own work, as well as for training others on vaccination communication strategies.

The handbook was developed with the support of the Australian Government through the National Centre for Immunization Research and Surveillance (NCIRS), Australia, in collaboration with the Australian Immunization Alliance (ARIA).

The National Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) led the development of this handbook, with technical support and advice from experts representing the University of Sydney Vietnam Institute (formerly the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research), the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Vietnam, and the National Centre for Immunization Research and Surveillance (NCIRS), Australia.
