This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival was made even more special through the first cultural collaboration between the Centre for Flourishing Cities and The University of Sydney Vietnam Institute, creating a welcoming space for connection, cultural exchange, and shared celebration.

We were delighted to welcome colleagues, students, and friends from across the University of Sydney community to a vibrant morning filled with cultural experiences. From handmade mooncakes and a spring roll-making workshop to traditional folk music, storytelling, shared memories, and writing wishes hung on the Wishing Tree, each activity helped foster meaningful connections and celebrate the richness of Vietnamese culture.

The event offered an opportunity for our international community to learn more about Vietnam’s cultural traditions while embracing the diversity and global spirit that define the University of Sydney.

More than a festive gathering, the celebration marked an important milestone in the partnership between the Centre for Flourishing Cities and SVI. We look forward to creating many more opportunities for learning, cultural exchange, and community connection in the future.
