The Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) at the University of Sydney Vietnam Institute (SVI) is a dedicated center of excellence in designing and delivering high-quality clinical research to advance healthcare and biotechnology. With a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals, the CTU manages complex clinical trials across priority areas such as infectious diseases, respiratory health, cardiovascular conditions, and other chronic illnesses.

Leveraging a nationwide network of over 170 GCP-compliant hospitals and research partners, the CTU has strong capabilities in recruiting and retaining large participant cohorts, ensuring both the quality and efficiency of clinical trials.

The HMU–USYD One Health Infectious Diseases Research Laboratory is a strategic partnership between the University of Sydney (USYD) and Hanoi Medical University (HMU), established to advance collaborative research on infectious diseases at the human–animal–environment interface. Operating under a formal Memorandum of Understanding, the laboratory serves as a shared platform for scientific discovery, training, and research capacity building in high‑disease‑burden settings, with an initial focus on mycology, emerging infectious threats, and One Health approaches.

By combining HMU’s laboratory infrastructure and local leadership with USYD’s global research expertise, technical support, and specialist training, the Joint Laboratory enables high‑impact, interdisciplinary research and researcher exchange. It fosters joint funding opportunities and sustained collaboration between Australia and Vietnam, generating evidence that strengthens regional and global responses to infectious diseases and contributes to resilient, equitable health systems through a One Health framework.

The Sydney Vietnam Media Innovation Hub (SVMIH) is a multidisciplinary research hub established within the University of Sydney Vietnam Institute (SVI). Founded to advance rigorous, context‑specific media research, the Hub builds on the University’s existing expertise and in‑country presence to examine the rapidly evolving media, platform, and digital innovation landscape in Vietnam.

Led by Associate Professor Jonathon Hutchinson, the SVMIH brings together scholars across media, cultural studies, platform studies, and AI governance to generate new knowledge on Vietnam’s platform economy, content creators, generative AI, media regulation, and digital media industries. The Hub plays a central role in strengthening research capacity and training through collaboration with partners in Vietnam, supporting knowledge exchange, and embedding research within local media ecologies in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

By integrating international academic expertise with grounded regional insight, the Media Innovation Hub contributes to global debates on media systems, digital governance, and creative industries from a non‑Western perspective.
